Metastatic Breast Cancer Spread Even Before A Tumor Develops


The latest research of metastatic breast cancer said that before tumors develops, cancer cells cause changes in the molecule and spread to other organs. According to the study Icahn School of Medicine and the University of Regensburg in Germany, these cells will remain calm in long term, then appears aggressive causing deadly in metastatic breast cancer.

The study of cancer was published in the journal Nature, the tests carried out on animals and humans. It solves the mystery of how the shape of metastatic breast cancer without a primary tumor and early growth. The primary tumor is clinically may never growth and hard to find, they are sleep in long time. Offcourse, the ACS states that the five-year survival rate after diagnosis for stage 4 breast cancer patients is 22 percent, the five-year rate is 72 percent at stage 3, and over 90 percent at stage 2.

The scientists from the University of Regensburg have discovered the cancer cells can spread and not only in mutate. But can be spread by moving to another weak immune system of organs. But scientists still not yet know how early cancer lesions grow up in the characteristics of malignant tumor. The study describes two breast cancer cell changes in oncogenes and tumor suppressor. The cells motivated and move from breast tissue to the lungs or to other organs. There is a possibility of these cells quiet life until changed into active growth and metastases growing in lungs.

According to the scientists, they provides new insights into the mechanisms of early cancer spread and explain the mysterious phenomenon. Why is among the 5 percent of cancer patients around the world have metastatic cancer, but can't find the original tumor? And why is it so difficult to treat cancer?

The new model of early metastatic breast cancer will change everything that is used in medical science. At least it will add insight and mindset, how cancer spreads and cause metastases? Most of cells initially remain to active, and targeted chemotherapy is refers to Proliferative cells. The first cell cancer spreading will hide itself from conventional therapy, even if the primary tumor is highly malignant.

These study has raised new questions about how the cells support to the growth of metastatic cancer. Whether cells grow on their own, arrange a new place to live and then the tumor cells was not detected. This research is expected to reveal the biological mechanisms of dissemination. All this work is done to understand how to target the cells cause metastatic cancer.

Early spread of cancer cells is an extension of the normal processes which creates branching tree in the milk ducts. Two main lines will be active in the process of p38 and HER2 oncogene. p38 can stimulate HER2 which will enable the module EMT (Epithelial to Mesenchymal Transition). EMT helps the movement of cells during embryogenesis and stimulate tissue growth. Klein will help the growth of Progesterone receptor that controls the branching tree of Ca Mammae.

The growth in Ca Mammae trees followed by p38, HER2, and EMT, is an alternative way to turn on and off. Everything in collaboration with progesterone allowing breast cells to move through the mammary glands, perforate tubular, creating a branch network of ducts to flow into the nipple. This is a normal process in the growth of breast cancer.

But in this experiment has found a different result, if HER2 including over-active or mutated, and p38 is permanently switched off, EMT constantly active, it allows cells to move out of the mammary gland and move to other organs through the blood. A similar process occurs in the first deployment of metastatic breast cancer, including Melanoma and Pancreatic cancer. In fact, the initial deployment of Pancreatic cancer has also been associated with the EMT process.
